about

February is a dreamy trip through the mind of a man in his twenties trying to find his place in the world. With lyricism harkening to the likes of Nick Drake and arrangements strongly influenced by David Bowie, Mulligan finds himself weaving in and out of jazz, psychedelic rock and traditional folk music throughout the 10 track album. The result is as dynamic as it is unique and leaves the listener wanting more

Track Name: Need Need Me
Over here, my darling
Can you hear me?

Speak
Speak
Speak

I love you completely

Love
Love
Love
Love

Tell me I’m the one you want
Tell me I’m the one you need
Need me, need me
need me, need me

Tell me I’m the only one
Tell me I’m the only one
You need, you need
You need, you need

Hold my arm and walk me
Can you feel me?

You and I have found each other
You and I have found each other
You and I have found each other
You and I have found each other

Love
Love

Tell me I’m the one you want
Tell me I’m the one you need
Need me, need me
need me, need me

Tell me I’m the only one
Tell me I’m the only one
You need, you need
You need, you need

Tell me I’m the one you want
Tell me I’m the one you need
Need me, need me
need me, need me

Tell me I’m the only one
Tell me I’m the only one
You need, you need
You need, you need
Track Name: New Friend
What’s your name
I’ve seen your face
It’s so clear you want to be here
In my bed

I’m the same
Like love and hate
They both rise with drooping eyes at
The same time

I don’t need
fantasies
Just to breathe the air of something
Else living

Sit with me
Talk to me
I have not felt interesting
Is this me?

Nice to meet you, what’s your name?
You ask me
I’m the ocean, won’t you lay beside me?
Don’t be broken hearted
Finish what your body started
Still, I haven’t known you long but something
Calls me deeply like a song I’m hearing
Warm vibration fills me, giving what my body’s missing

Take me now, I need that heart
From someone’s mouth on top of me
Let it out, it’s a shame
We were let down this way
It’s our nature, come this way, come this way

Prehistoric instinct flashing quickly
There’s no other way to save my body
Just believe that what I’m saying
has some real meaning

Long devoted conversation dying
There’s no other words to hide your crying
Deep inside you want to touch me
Like I want to touch you

Take me now, I need that heart
From someone’s mouth on top of me
Let it out, it’s a shame
We were let down this way
It’s our nature, come this way, come this way
Track Name: I Burn
Spirits follow you home
Showing up when you’re alone
Tell them to all go away
Even if it’s just for a day

But I trust that wind
And you’ve got me pinned

Secrets hidden in words
Come out and share with the world
Waiting and hoping to hear
That I’ve got no reason to fear

‘Cause I trust that wind
And you’ve got me pinned
Yes, I trust that wind
And you’ve got me pinned

I float on a raft in the sea
I don’t know where it’s taking me
We talk for an hour or three
And no one is yelling at me

so i’ll trust that wind
And she’s got me pinned
So I’ll trust that wind
And she’s got me pinned

And I want to see you again
Even if it’s just as a friend
But speak up and tell me the truth
I gave you a part of my youth

So, I’ll trust that wind
‘Cause you’ve got me pinned
And I’ll trust that wind
‘Cause you’ve got me pinned

so tell me what I should
if I burn for no one but you
I burn for no one but you
I burn for no one but you
Track Name: Body Sale
Ma-Mama makes her way to the city
She wants to feel good
She wants to be pretty
Mama goes down to the dingy part of the alley
She meets with a new man who says her new name is candy

She goes to a room
She doesn’t want to do what she has to do
She goes to a room
Ma-mama makes her way to the feeding hall
Homeless faces hurry or they won’t get fed at all
Walk fast catch the max to the nearest liquor stores
With a bottle and glowing T.V.
She doesn’t have to think anymore

She goes to a room
She doesn’t want to do what she has to do
She goes to a room
Track Name: Cosmic and Pretty Eyed
Soap in my eyes again
I realize they’re red
You had me on my bed
You bite my lips again

Over and over
Holding my lover
Show me a freedom
“Holy” is “hold me”
Cosmic and pretty eyed.

She says “Joaquin”, a game
Playing with words and names
Her heart will skip a beat
Ii think it’s time we meet

A week without you
Breaks me to pieces
Touching your presence
Feeling your absence
Cosmic and pretty eyed

So you have made a home
Out of some sticks and stones
Let me inside your door
Animals on your floor

Can it be real?
All that I feel
You are believing
Searching within me
Cosmic, I slowly die
Track Name: Changing the Season
You tell me that you need me
But you don’t ever see me
You tell me that you love me
Then how come you don’t call me?
I had a million questions
But never got an answer
You didn’t want to tell me
Things that happened after
I’m asking for
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season

Build a wall around me
(Build a wall around me)
And let me fall to pieces
(Let me fall to pieces)
Form again this morning
(Form again this morning)
Remember how you loved me?
(Remember how you loved me)
The body hangs on tightly
(The body hangs on tightly)
To memories of feeling
(To memories of feeling)
Locked to passing perfume
(Locked to passing perfume)
I always seem to find you
(I Always seem to find you)

I’m asking for
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season

Hold me while you can
Let me feel your bloodless hands
Cold and very pale
Such sweet eyes that call me still
Emptiness that fills
All this space inside my chest
I know how it feels
sweet familiar broken heart
Please come back to me
I can’t sleep without your heat
Dreams are all confused
Without your beating heart

I’m asking for
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season
A reason, a reason, a reason
You’re changing the season
The season, the season, the season
Track Name: To Love No One
Something in my head don’t feel right
Something in my head, sure don’t feel right
I tried so hard to reach you, now, I don’t really need you
That’s a lie, I told you, I don’t feel right

It takes a love to learn not to love no one
It takes a lot of love to feel all undone
I tried so hard to love you but fighting love will kill you
It takes a lot of love to learn to love no one

I don’t blame the girl, she was straight with me
I don’t blame the girl, it was all on me
I tried to build a wall but all the bricks would fall
In shouldn’t be so quick to love the girls I see

Find another girl, that’s what I should do
Find another girl who will want me too
I hate to let this go, all this love I’ve yet to show
Find another girl who will love me too

One foot out the door, then she’s leaving me
I’ve been here before, she was using me
I had to set her free, now, it’s you I should let be
I won’t try to kiss your soft lips no more

The next song that I write is for the girl next door
Who calls me every night always wanting more
Still, she don’t exist, she has always been a myth
So, I’m alone tonight on my bedroom floor

If you change your mind, don’t you call me up
If you change your mind, don’t you call me up
Just come straight to my home, where I sing a lonely song
If you change your mind, don’t you call me up
Track Name: In My Room
Tell me, have I done something so wrong?
Really, have I been so lost for too long?
There’s nothing keeping my body from leaving tonight
Tell me, why don’t you want to see me?
Am I too fast and pressure you into leaving?
Without knowing what I’m doing to you

Lay me down, my love
You know that hearts will break into
A bright new world if you just let the light within
Go softly down again, the rain will wash out all
Our darkest thoughts

So, what? What can I do to convince you
I’m not as bad as I seem, and my fear
It echoes as though I were dreaming of you
Come on, I just want you to kiss me
And miss me when I’m not around
But love is such a hard thing to hold

Lay me down, my love
You know that hearts will break into
A bright new world if you just let the light within
Go softly down again, the rain will wash out all
Our darkest thoughts
Track Name: Nothing burns me
Say what you want to say
I know it’s hard but you have to
Tell me to stay or

Go where the sun doesn’t come to my door
Leave me to die on an old wooden floor
I ran outside but the rain hid you well
Far down the road, couldn't stay on your tail

Say what you have to say
I know it’s hard but you have to
Tell me to stay or

Go where the heat doesn’t burn me at all
Go where the ice doesn’t freeze me or thaw
Snow pouring down on a cold winter day
I want you back but I can’t, so I’ll say

So long, so long

Someday you might see me as I am
I just want to love you without going mad

There’s no wrong way
I’m not crazy

Go where the sun doesn’t come to my door
Leave me to die on an old wooden floor
I ran outside but the rain hid you well
Far down the road, couldn't stay on your tail

So long
